At StedyChefs Learning Centre, it is all about creating fun and exciting learning activities that are beneficial for adults with disabilities and learning difficulties. Starting up in 2017, things have expanded pretty quickly; from a smaller kitchen within a storage facility, to two amazing customised buildings specified for the service. The main goal for StedyChefs is to be able to provide the same amazing opportunities that they already do, for a large horizon of disadvantaged adults with disabilities or learning difficulties.

StedyChefs Learning Centre s now located at both:

StedyChefs Learning Centre

Faringdon Road

StedyChefs Learning Centre

330 Rice Lane

L9 2BL

The main priorities when attending StedyChefs are

  • Learning basic safety skills within the kitchen
  • Gaining Independent Living skills through cookery, having knowledge of what you should be eating, and how to cook it the healthiest way possible
  • Enjoying yourself, having a fun time, making new friends

StedyChefs have amazing opportunities available for the students that attend their day service, some of which have even been additional training towards Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificates. This is for students who have a passion for cooking, and really think they may want to develop their skills further into the standards for employment. This is usually assessed on a case basis, by the tutors that are with them throughout each lesson.Β

The cost is Β£70.00 per day. StedyChefs are a commissioned service, in partnership with Liverpool Combined Authority, which consists of Liverpool Council, Knowsley Council, Sefton Council, Wirral Council, St Helens Council and Halton Council.Β

If you are unable to attend with a commissioned place, StedyChefs also accept students with Direct Payments, or students who would like to self-fund. To set up Direct Payments, StedyChefs would always recommend taking the first steps of contacting your local authority to point you in the right place, there may be a little while to wait for assessments to take place in order to get the funds set up.

Free taster days are offered to ensure that you are 100% happy with attending the service, and getting used to the facilities and staff before you start.

Included within the price is:

  • Cookery Lessons, taught by a fully qualified Chef
  • Chefs Uniform
  • Lunch – what gets cooked is eaten on the day. If for example desserts are being made, these will be brought home
  • Transport Service
  • Fun, cookery-themed cooked each six weeks
